Samus returns to SR388 and gets infected by the X-parasites (mimic their prey) the primary food source for Metroids. Scientists strip her of the Power Suit and injects her with an X-vaccine made with the baby metroid's DNA that helped her in the last adventure. She must watch out for more X-parasites and the SA-6 an X-parasite with a suit similar to the Varia and Power suits.
